Meet Joe, our Heritage Plasterer apprentice – new addition to the team!

After a long search we have finally found a heritage plaster apprentice. Joe is a local lad from Northallerton, 18 years old, and excited to start learning about the heritage plaster trade. Through funding via the CITB (Construction Industry Training Bureau) we have given him his apprenticeship that will eventually take him through to a Level 4 Qualification. With a day a week at Darlington College, he is working towards Level 2 NVQ in plastering. In the meantime, he's spending time with our experienced craftsmen both on site and in the workshop where he will be mentored and taught the skills required for our business.

In his spare time Joe enjoys reading and boxing - he boxes 4 times a week! So far he describes the experience as 'sound'. We are thrilled that we have found a young person to work in the 'heritage industry' with us. In time, he'll become a highly skilled craftsmen using some of the same techniques that haven't changed in hundreds of years.
