Repairs to water damaged cornice and lath and plaster ceiling

We have just completed a cornice repair job at a Grade II listed late 18th, early 19th, century cottage. Water ingress had caused the period cornice to 'blow' and had also caused damage to the lath and plaster ceiling.

Our craftsman took a template of the cornice and recreated the same design. We then manufactured a length of the bespoke cornice and set about making good the unsightly area. The photo below show each step of the process, with the finished result looking good and all ready for redecoration. Patch repairs are very common in period properties, this area will now last as long as the house itself.

If you've got a cornice repair job that needs professional attention, get in touch. No job is too big or too small for the heritage experts at Ryedale Plasterers and we offer a wide range of heritage repair services.
