Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Ryedale Plasterers and Cornice Specialists. By accepting a quotation or instructing us to commence work, you agree to be bound by the terms set out below.

These terms apply to all plastering, restoration, mould-making, decorative plasterwork, installation, and associated services carried out by Ryedale Plasterers and Cornice Specialists.

2. Quotations

All quotations are provided based on the information available at the time of assessment.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Quotations remain valid for 30 days from the date issued.

  • Prices may be subject to change if the scope of work changes or unforeseen issues are discovered during the project.

  • Additional work requested by the client will be quoted separately or charged at an agreed rate.

3. Acceptance of Work

Acceptance of a quotation may be given in writing, by email, or by instructing us to begin work.

By accepting our quotation, the client confirms that they have the authority to approve the work and accept these terms.

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms will be stated within the quotation or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed:

  • A deposit may be required prior to the commencement of work.

  • Stage payments may be required for larger projects.

  • Final payment is due within 14 days of invoice date.

Ryedale Plasterers and Cornice Specialists reserve the right to suspend work if payments are not made in accordance with agreed terms.

5. Access and Site Conditions

The client must ensure safe and reasonable access to the site for the duration of the works.

This includes:

  • Access to water and electricity where required

  • Clear working areas

  • Adequate site preparation where agreed

We reserve the right to charge for delays or additional costs resulting from restricted access, unsafe conditions, or site issues beyond our control.

6. Variations and Additional Work

If additional work becomes necessary due to unforeseen structural issues, hidden damage, or client requests, this will be discussed with the client before proceeding.

Any variations may result in additional costs and possible adjustments to project timelines.

7. Timescales

All project timelines are estimates unless otherwise agreed in writing.

While we make every effort to meet agreed schedules, delays may occur due to:

  • Weather conditions

  • Material availability

  • Site conditions

  • Unforeseen structural issues

Ryedale Plasterers and Cornice Specialists cannot be held responsible for delays outside of our reasonable control.

8. Materials and Workmanship

All materials used will be appropriate for the work being carried out and installed using recognised industry standards and traditional techniques where required.

Due to the nature of restoration and handcrafted plasterwork, minor variations in finish, texture, or detail may occur and are considered part of traditional craftsmanship.

9. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

  • Removing furniture or belongings from work areas unless agreed otherwise

  • Ensuring adequate protection for nearby items

  • Obtaining any required planning permissions or building approvals unless otherwise agreed

10. Liability

Ryedale Plasterers and Cornice Specialists will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing structural issues

  • Damage resulting from underlying defects not visible during initial inspection

  • Issues arising from work carried out by third parties

Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out under the relevant contract.

11. Cancellations

If a client cancels work after accepting a quotation:

  • Any costs already incurred for materials, preparation, or labour may be charged.

  • Deposits may be non-refundable where materials or labour have already been committed.

12. Intellectual Property

Any designs, moulds, drawings, or bespoke decorative work created by Ryedale Plasterers and Cornice Specialists remain the intellectual property of the company unless otherwise agreed in writing.

13. Health and Safety

All work will be carried out in accordance with relevant UK health and safety regulations. Clients must ensure that the working environment is safe and free from hazards that may affect our staff or contractors.
